QotD: Make Me Smile

What's making you smile today?

You've done it all, you've broken every code
And pulled the rebel to the floor
You spoilt the game, no matter what you say
For only metal – what a bore!
Blue eyes, blue eyes, how come you tell so many lies?

Come up and see me, make me smile
Or do what you want, run on wild

There's nothing left, all gone and run away
Maybe you'll tarry for a while
It's just a test, a game for us to play
Win or lose, it's hard to smile
Resist, resist, it's from yourself you have to hide

Come up and see me, make me smile
Or do what you want, run on wild

There ain't no more, you've taken everything
From my believe in Mother Earth
How can you ignore my faith in everything
When I know what Faith is and what it's worth
Away, away, and don't say maybe you'll try

Come up and see me, make me smile
Or do what you want, run on wild

  1. This is the song that I would cover with two of my best friends, if we could sing. Or play instruments.

  2. What a perfect idea – I was singing along with this as I was listening to it on YouTube!
Any song with the words 'what a bore' in it is positively solid gold.

  3. I should put this as my childhood trauma – listening to my brother sing this song over and over

  4. Oh no! I didn't mean to dredge up those terrible memories!
I can just see brother singing the verses over and over with poor Cat cringing in the corner!

  5. he had a special dance move to go with it

  6. If I didn't know that describing it would engrain that image even deeper into your subconscious, I would ask you to do just that, and in great detail.

  7. I do hope that's faux fur.

  8. The entire band was featuring a style that could best be classified as haute '70's horror – I believe that the fur here was as plastic as the jacket it trimmed.
